UPDATE: Fatal overnight crash in Fond du Lac County

FOND DU LAC COUNTY -- The Fond du Lac Police Department is investigating a deadly crash.

It happened just before 3:00 a.m. Friday and kept the roads closed until about 9:00 a.m.

Officers responded to a report of a car hitting a tree.

When crews arrived they found 17-year-old Giovanni Clouse from the Dotyville area had died in the crash. Clouse was a passenger in the vehicle. He was a student at Campbellsport High School.

The driver of the vehicle, 18-year-old Gilberto Castaneda-Bobadilla from the Eden area was extricated from the vehicle and was taken from the scene by Flight for Life. Castaneda-Bobadilla remains in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A third passenger, 17-year-old Alex Schultz from Campbellsport and also a student at Campbellsport High School, was transported to St. Agnes Hospital with critical injuries.

School officials of Campbellsport High School were notified of the accident which involved two of their students.

Officers are still working to determine what caused the crash.
