Vigil for missing Milwaukee journalist set for Friday night
MILWAUKEE - The parents of Marquette graduate and freelance journalist James Foley who was kidnapped in Syria last year will be on campus Friday night for a vigil for him.
Foley was taken by a gunman from a car in Syria on Thanksgiving Day. No one has heard anything about him since.
This is the second time in two years that Foley was taken hostage while working in a war torn country. Two years ago Friday he was kidnapped while covering a story in Libya, but that time his family was able to negotiate with the Libyan government and even speak with James. This time they're completely in the dark.
A vigil for Foley will be held Friday at 7:00 p.m. at the Alumni Memorial Union. Foley parents will be in attendance.
