MILWAUKEE--Family and friends of a man who died at a mental health facility gathered to honor his memory.

25-year-old Brandon Johnson died Saturday, three days after he was admitted to the Milwaukee County Mental Health Complex. According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office he died of complications from a broken neck.

"We want to know what happened to him that's all," explained his aunt Kamesha Johnson-Taylor.

Dozens attended a vigil at New Restoration Christian Church in Milwaukee Thursday.

Sheriff David Clarke said his investigators will try to determine how and when Johnson received the injury.

According to a news release from the sheriff's office:

"Initially, the Milwaukee Police Department was dispatched to a home in regards to a man with mental health issues behaving irrationally. Officers responded, took the man into custody and placed him in handcuffs. Ambulance attendants at the scene looked him over. The man was then transported in a police conveyance wagon in handcuffs and leg irons to County Behavioral Health where he was admitted. He died several days later."

This is the 5th death at the mental health complex so far this year.
