Ex-Walker aide back in court for embezzlement trial

MILWAUKEE -- The embezzlement trial of a former aide for then-Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker continues Tuesday.

Kevin Kavanaugh, 62, is on trial for felony fraud and theft.

Kavanaugh was appointed to his post in the county by Walker. Investigators say he used his position to embezzle $42,000 from a local veteran's group.

Lawyers picked a jury and delivered opening statements Monday.

Kavanaugh was charged as part of a secret John Doe investigation targeting several Walker aides.
