Escaped inmate overdoses
MILWAUKEE–An inmate that did not return from his work release overdosed in the parking lot of a drug facility.
The inmate, 25-year-old Patrick Gunther, was out on court-ordered release. He did not return to jail as scheduled on December 31 and overdosed in the parking lot of a drug treatment facility. Wauwatosa police found him in the lot and brought him to Froedtert Hospital. Gunther was convicted on a felony Possession of Narcotics charge in November. He was granted Huber release for work, treatment and education. He was also in custody for Violation of Parole from a misdemeanor retail theft conviction from June 2012. The case will be referred to the District Attorney’s Office for potential charging on the escape and subsequent drug use. |
