Elderly man dies after being stuck by vehicle

MILWAUKEE --- A 91-year-old man was hit by a car and killed while he was trying to cross the street.
According to police 91-year-old Howard P. Roepke got off the bus just before 3:00 p.m. Wednesday on Oklahoma Ave.
Roepke then tried to cross the street to a church that was offering free meals to seniors. Police say he was using a walker and was not in the crosswalk.
The driver of a grey Hyundai Sonata struck the man as he crossed the street. The driver remained on scene and told police he did not see Roepke crossing the road.
Police say this was an accident.
