Echo Lake Foods wants to rebuild in BurlingtonBURLINGTON-- Echo Lake Foods said on Monday that it intends to stay in Burlington after a major fire gutted their building last week. The capacity to which they stay depends on state and local assistance. Representatives of the company said they would like to stay at full capacity and grow even more. There's not a set time table for rebuilding yet. That may also depend on assistance that the company gets. The plant was destroyed when a fire broke out Wednesday night. The response to that fire was considered nine alarms. Some workers had to be treated for smoke inhalation. More than 200 people work at Echo Lakes Foods. It is one of Burlington's major employers. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
