Drunk driver who hit MPD officer sentenced to two years in jail

MILWAUKEE -- Erin Salmon, the 23-year-old accused of driving the wrong way on I-94 and critically injuring an off-duty Milwaukee Police officer, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison and two years extended supervision.

Salmon was driving drunk without her headlights on when she hit Milwaukee Police Officer Joshua Albert. Prosecutors added a third felony charge relating to her blood alcohol level when she crashed in the interstate last month. She's was also charged with hitting two parked cars before getting on the highway.

Salmon will lose driving privileges for two years, and must use an interlock device for the first two years she gets her license back.
