Divided opinion on re-opening gun range in Delafield
DELAFIELD-It was a packed house Wednesday night as residents voiced concern over the re-opening of the Hartland Sportman's Club outdoor gun range.
It was shut down three years ago after a pregnant woman was hit by a stray bullet as she sat at a nearby restaurant.
"What are you thinking?" Resident Gary Hobila told council members, "My thinking has evolved from indifference to opposition."
The club presented a video showing how there would be buffers and bullet catchers to limit ricochet bullets.
"We've proposed an entire revamp of the supervision structure for the shooting ranges," Jeremy Levinson assured the crowd. "In particular there will be no shooting that is not supervised by someone with special training and special credentialing."
