Derek Williams Inquest Day 5: Witness testimony contradicts testimony from officers

by Chris Patterson

MILWAUKEE -- The last 20 minutes of Derek Williams life was played for jurors during day five of the inquest. The ongoing inquest is being organized to decide if the actions of police officers on the night Derek Williams died were criminal.

Jurors heard from a witness who said Derek Williams was slumped over as he was taken to a police squad where he collapsed and died two summers ago. The witness who testified in the inquest wasn't sure if he was being dragged or if that was his posture.

The witness testimony is in direct conflict with statements given by officers on the scene that night. Officers say he walked to the vehicle.
