31-year-old man shot by deputy in Delafield

TOWN OF DELAFIELD -- For the second time in less than a week, a local law enforcement officer is forced to fire is weapon in self defense.

A 31-year-old man is now recovering from a gun shot wound at Froedtert Hospital.

The Waukesha County Sheriff's Office tells CBS 58 the man injured was shot by a deputy inside a home in the Town of Delafield.

Several squads surrounded a home near Twin Oaks Drive and Huckleberry Road after officials received a 9-1-1 call about a man who had a gun and was apparently suicidal.

When deputies arrived, they asked the man to drop the weapon, but when he refused to do so, a deputy shot the suspect.

Flight for Life transported the man to Froedtert Hospital.

As of Wednesday morning, it is unclear how the man is doing. The Walworth County Sheriff's Department is aiding in the investigation.
