Baby remains found at recycling plant could be from WI

CHICAGO RIDGE, IL -- Workers at Resource Management in Chicago Ridge, IL found a dead newborn discarded inside a small soft red cooler early May 1st.

Employees at Resource Management say the daily load of recycling materials began to be unloaded around 2:15 a.m., and the infant was found on the conveyor belt around 4:00 a.m. this morning. They were involved in their routine refuse-recyclable separation operations.

Police say the newborn was found inside a small, soft, red cooler, and was wrapped inside of a blue towel. Paramedics were dispatched to the scene at 4:06 a.m., and declared the infant deceased.

Investigators say the load being processed on May 1st was picked up on April 29th. They say deceased infant may have been picked up in Pleasant Prairie or Waukegan, IL.

We're told the April 29th load was picked up and transported to Kenosha, and later transported to Chicago Ridge on April 30th.
