Customer Who Found Hair in Steak Can't Get Money from Restaurant
WEST BEND---He was served a steak with pubic hair, but a customer at a Texas Roadhouse can't collect monetary damages from the restaurant.
That's the decision from a state appeals court Wednesday, which ruled the February 2008 incident was solely to blame on the cook and not the Texas Roadhouse chain. The customer was suing for $125,000. The cook was given six months jail time with work release privileges. His probation ended just about a year ago. He admitted to being angry that the steak had been sent back and thought it was a ploy to get a free meal. So, he cut a slit in the steak in a failed attempt to hide the hair that he had plucked from his pants. |
