Crews in Delafied battle gazebo fire
DELAFIELD—Officials in Delafield work quickly to stop a fire in an attached gazebo from spreading to a home.
The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department and the Town of Delafield Fire Department responded to the fire on Summerhill Road shortly before 2:00 a.m. Saturday.
The residents were alerted by smoke detectors and were able to get themselves out of the home.
One person had to be taken to a local hospital for possible smoke inhalation.
When squads arrived on scene they saw flames coming from the gazebo, which was attached to the house.
Officials were able to contain the fire to the gazebo.
An initial investigation indicated that the fire started in a natural gas fireplace in the gazebo.
The fireplace had been used by the homeowner earlier in the evening.
