MILWAUKEE— Crews battled an overnight fire at a home under renovation.

Firefighters responded to the home near 3rd & Maple around 11:30 p.m. Friday night.

When they arrived on scene the house was well involved in fire.

The fire had been burning for some time prior to their arrival and the stairs were burned out.

Since the home was being remodeled there were open walls, which helped the fire spread quickly.

There were no injuries.

The house was a total loss.

The fire started on the first floor and spread throughout the rest of the house.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
