Congressman Ryan Heckled in Iowa

1st Test On Solo Outing

by Michele McCormack

DES MOINES-During his first solo appearance as Mitt Romney's running mate, Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan came face to face with some pretty persistent hecklers.

It happened during a stop at the Iowa State Fair.

Ryan stuck to the stump speech, acknowledging the two women only breifly to say they weren't, obviously, from Wisconsin or Iowa.

Ryan also took a hit from President Obama who happens to be in Iowa as well.

The president told a crowd in Council Bluffs that Ryan blocked a bill that would have helped drought weary farmers.

Vice President Joe Biden was in North Carolina Monday.

Mitt Romney was in Florida.
