Car fleeing gunfire crashes and catches fire

MILWAUKEE-- The Racine Fire Department responded to a crash in the 1500 block of Martin Luther King Drive shortly before 3:30 a.m. Saturday.

When firefighters arrived they found a fully involved car fire.

The occupants of the vehicle reported that gun shots had been fired at the vehicle and the vehicle struck a utility pole while attempting to flee.

The passenger in the vehicle was treated on scene and the driver was taken to Wheaton Franciscan Hospital.
