CBS 58 still carried by Time Warner Cable

MILWAUKEE -- Time Warner Cable and New York based CBS Corp. have been in negotiations over “retransmission consent”, the contract between cable companies and television stations for the cable provider to have the right to re-transmit local television signals. This negotiation over retransmission mainly involves 8 television markets, where CBS Corp. owns stations and Time Warner Cable is the dominant pay-TV provider. Earlier this afternoon, Time Warner Cable took the CBS owned stations off their systems in several markets. The cities facing the biggest impact are New York, Los Angeles, and Dallas.

“Here in Milwaukee, WDJT is affiliated with the CBS Network, but we are not owned by CBS Corp.”, said Jim Hall, General Manager of the Weigel Broadcasting Co. family of stations serving Milwaukee and Southeastern Wisconsin.  “ Weigel Broadcasting Co. has a retransmission deal in place with Time Warner Cable to carry the WDJT CBS 58 signal, and our viewers will continue to receive their favorite programs from CBS.
WDJT, CBS 58 is part of the Weigel Broadcasting Co. family of stations serving the Milwaukee market that also include WMLW, MeTV, Telemundo Wisconsin, THIS, Bounce TV, TouchVision, and Movies!
