Brown Deer High School on lockdown twice in one day

BROWN DEER -- Brown Deer High School was on lockdown between 9:35 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. after a staff member overheard a student say there's a gun in the school. Now, police are reporting the school was lockdown for a second time from 2:25 p.m. to 3:35 p.m. thanks to reports of shooting near the high school.

During the first lockdown Brown Deer police and school staff members search the school, and found no gun. School resumed at 10:15 a.m.

Police say there were reports of shots fired around 2:25 p.m. that put Brown Deer High School, Brown Deer Middle School and Dean School on lockdown until 3:35 p.m.

Brown Deer School administration says they will take appropriate disciplinary action for what caused the first lockdown.

Police say there's no evidence the second lock down actually involved a firearm, but will continue to investigate the reports of shots fired.
