Bracing for Cold snap
MILWAUKEE -- This weekend wind chills are expected to tumble below zero and wind speeds expect to crank up. The frigid weather comes just in time for Katie Csizmadia to run a 5k race at the Milwaukee County Zoo.
"It's going to be like 8 degrees. It's not going to be fun," says Csizmadia . The injury prevention coordinator at Froedert & Medical College of Wisconsin, Lisa Hass-Peters says Csizmadia and anyone else with outdoor plans should bundle up and wear a hat. "You lose so much of your temperature through your head," says Hass-Peters. She hopes people take extra precautions, use common sense and look out for people with special needs, kids, senior citizens and pets. Hass-Peters says it's not a bad idea to stay indoors. |
