Body of missing wind surfer pulled from Lake Winnebago

FOND DU LAC COUNTY-- The body of a missing wind surfer was pulled from Lake Winnebago Saturday evening.

Around 4:30 p.m. a 911 caller reported that a wind surfing ring had washed up on shore and personnel from the windsurfing company were going onto the lake to look for a missing man.

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office, the Coast Guard and the Fond du Lac Fire Department responded to the scene to search for the man.

Shortly after 6:00 p.m. personnel from the windsurfing company located the body in the water about 400 yards off shore.

Sheriff Deputies removed the man's body from the water and brought him to shore.

The Fond du Lac County Fire Department pronounced the man deceased.

Officials said that he was not wearing a personal flotation device.

The man is 71-years-old and is from Sheboygan Falls.

His name is not being released at this time.
