MADISON -- Two members of the Wisconsin Legislature introduced a bill that would repeal Wisconsin's ban on same-sex marriage. The bill's introduction comes nine days after the ACLU filed a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the ban approved by Wisconsin voters in 2006.

State Representative's Jocasta Zamarripa and State Senator Tim Carpenter say recent polls have shown voters now support lifting the ban.

Wisconsin Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen has said he will vigorously defend the constitutional amendment passed by voters defining marriage as a union between a man and a woman.
