Thursday marks anniversary of worst traffic crash in Wisconsin history
SHEBOYGAN COUNTY -- Thursday marks the 10-year anniversary of the worst traffic accident in Wisconsin history.
It started when cars hit a wall of fog on I-43 in Sheboygan County near Cedar Grove. By the time the vehicles stopped sliding and colliding, 50 vehicles were involved. Ten people died in the crash and 39 other people were injured. The cause of the crash is still unclear, but weather conditions have been blamed for the magnitude of the crash. Two crosses stand on a slope just west of the freeway near the scene of the crash. |
