Amtrak Hiawatha collides with car in Mount Pleasant

MOUNT PLEASANT-- An Amtrak Hiawatha train traveling from Chicago to Milwaukee collided with a car in Mount Pleasant Tuesday afternoon.

 According to investigators, around 2:20pm the train was traveling northbound on the tracks and the car was traveling southbound on the tracks when the crash happened.

Family and friends identify the driver of the car as, Ben Glaeser, 29.  Glaeser died. His aunt explained to CBS 58 that he had a history of mental illness. Police said they are pointing to suicide as the cause.

None of the passengers on the train were injured.
