State investigators are promising answers, but the family of a mentally ill man shot and killed in Red Arrow Park last month says those answers aren't coming quickly enough.

Dontre Hamilton, 31, was shot by a police officer. The officer said Hamilton attacked him.

The Department of Justice is handling this case.  They have not sad how far along they are in the investigation.

Several city leaders listened Thursday as the Milwaukee Police Department gave insight into their Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training. A training that helps officers deal with those who are mentally ill. Only about 20 % of the Milwaukee Police Department is CIT trained.  The officer who shot Hamilton was not.
