Armed Robbery near Marquette University

Milwaukee - As students at Marquette University prepare for a new school year, they must worry about their safety. The Department of Public Safety confirmed a robbery occurred over the weekend in the 1400 block of Kilbourn Avenue. A suspect in his late 20's approached at Marquette student, displayed a weapon and demanded their property.

The victim gave up their property, and the armed suspect along with three other subjects fled the scene in a vehicle. The vehicle has been described as a red SUV, with a grey stripe, and a broken window fixed with tape. The victim suffered minor injuries, and treated at a nearby hospital.

The Department of Public Safety at Marquette University advises students to walk in well lit areas, and to use the limo and the safety patrol services provided on campus. The Milwaukee Police Department and the Department of Public Safety at Marquette University are investigating the incident.
