9/11 Remembrance in MilwaukeeBeam From Twin Towers Front and Center At War Memorial
MILWAUKEE-Like so many cities and towns across America on Tuesday, Milwaukee paused to remember the nearly 3,000 victims who died in the terrorist attacks 11 years ago.
Governor Walker also called attention to the lives lost in military action in the wake of the tragedy and throughout history to preserve freedom. The Governor said, "On days like this, we should remember to thank them." A representative from each branch of the military laid a wreath in the reflecting pool at the War Memorial. An American flag was then placed on a beam from the World Trade Center which is now on display in Milwaukee. |
