Educators say future is in danger

MILWAUKEE – Governor Scott Walker's budget may be law but that's not stopping some in Wisconsin's education community from fighting against it.

School leaders from across the state gathered in Greenfield Wednesday and they delivered a warning, saying say that the future of education in Wisconsin is in danger.

“We are, at best, a little bit above average and we're dropping,” said Terry Faulk, MPS Board Member. “We are below the national average in college graduates and we are now below the national average for paying compensation for our educators and we're dropping, and we will continue to drop.”

But Governor Walker says the budget has several tools that allow districts to get the most out of their workforce without putting more burden onto taxpayers.

That's ok Jerry,we tend to hear the loudest voice but that doesn't mean no one else is talking. The truth is out there, sometimes "it don't come easy"

I guess I never thought this all through. You are correct Harold, I never thought of it from the perspective of the good they still do compared to anything, we can get done by our legislative representatives considering all the money they take in wages, expenses, pensions and vacations and sick time, not to mention the nice health care package they get. I think I see all the affected workers now and what they've been going through all this time. This is definitely a slap in the face to all of them. I'm sorry

The last comment suggests that the unions are getting rich off the workers. So if that is the case, as you suggest, then the alternative is to feed more money back to the politicians who have been lining their pockets with our hard earned money year after year. Yet none of us see the benefits of making them rich. So which evil do you consider to work the best for you? I don't see the benefit of making some lame politician rich and watch him or her change to a different tax bracket where now their interests are not the same as they were when they were elected to office. Walker is a perfect example and so is Fritzy .

So BarBee you are going to trust the union leaders to put the union dues to proper use and not support people that just want to line their own pockets.

I'll be using a Democratic tool on Walker, and it's called the RECALL election vote. Lucky for me no-one of value will support Walkers agenda except a couple of kooks, crooks, and rich people. Bye-bye Walker.
