MILWAUKEE-- 5-year-old Jayden Banda's short life was taken away after allegedly being severely abused.

His mother and her boyfriend are in police custody.

Neighbors on the southside where Jayden called home are disgusted. They say Jayden, his mother and her live-in boyfriend moved into the neighborhood in the beginning of September.

We're not naming the mother or her boyfriend who are now both being held on a more than a $200,000 bond each. They've not been officially charged with the alleged homicide.

The accused boyfriend had prior minor offenses and one restraining order filed by a previous girlfriend.

He also had a court imposed restraining order after being charged with abusing Jayden's mother.

According to the complaint the boyfriend broke Jayden's mother's finger and told her he was going to kill her.

However, she did not show up for that court case.

Neighbors say Jayden's father, who lives in Florida, had been in the process of fighting for custody of his son.
