MILWAUKEE -- Gerald Herrington, a 31-year-old sex offender, is charged with two counts of second degree sexual assault of a child child under 16 years of age. Herrington allegedly had sex with a 15-year-old girl after picking her up on the streets of Racine.

The criminal complaint says the 15-year-old was out walking around 3:00 a.m., when she was confronted by Herrington. The girl got into his car after allegedly threatening her.  Once in Herrington's car, the girl told police that she was allegedly offered weed and beer.

Herrington took the teen girl to an abandoned building on the 500 block of Greenfield Rd. in the City of Racine. In the complaint the girl tells police she was forced to engage in sexual acts with Herrington.

The teen was found by a Racine police officer at 4:51 a.m. near the intersection of Erie St. and Three Mile Road.

Herrington is also facing a felony charge of sex offender registry violation. If convicted on all counts, he faces over 86 years in prison.
