23 people indicted in connection with heroin ring in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE-- The U.S. Attorney’s office has indicted 23 people on conspiracy to possess a controlled substance with the intent to distribute heroin.

The investigation has been ongoing for weeks. Tuesday, law enforcement arrested 19 of the 23 people. According to the U.S. Attorney’s office, law enforcement also executed seven search warrants, where they say they found roughly $300,000 in cash and five firearms. Officers also seized more than one kilogram of heroin.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, this is a large drug trafficking organization that has been selling cocaine and heroin on the south side of Milwaukee for years.
