Milwaukee -- Police have arrested two suspects believed to be responsible for a robbery at St. Anthony Catholic Church on Milwaukee’s south side.
A 31-year-old man and 55-year-old man made away with several antique gold and brass candleholders that they then sold to a metal buyer whom police believe they knew.
Police found the hocked candleholders at a sound side home where the suspects sold them for scrap for $100.
Church staff valued the stolen items at $80,000.
The case will be reviewed by the Milwaukee County D.A.’s Office on Monday.
