MILWAUKEE -- Family and friends of a slain Milwaukee poet, Anita Brooks, honor her and raise money for her family Saturday night. The event starts at 7:00 p.m. at Jesse's Place in Milwaukee. Loved ones will share photos and Brooks' poetry. Police says Brooks was found dead in her apartment near 34th and Highland. Her husband, Keith Brooks is charged with her murder. Police say the murder took place when the couple's three-year-old daughter was in their home.

The family set up a fund in Anita Brooks name at Educators Credit Union to help pay for her burial.
