171st Waukesha County Fair Opens for Business

by WDJT Weather

Waukesha--It's the third week of July, and that means it's time for the Waukesha County Fair. This is considered to be Wisconsin's oldest fair, dating back 171 years!

The fair started today and runs through Sunday. More than 135 thousand people are expected to attend. Obviously, it's all about the folks, food, and fun. Not to mention the livestock.

And with the extensive heat, keeping cool is vital in this weather. Not just for the people but the animals. Shade, lots of water, and slowing down seem to help us all.

New this year is a monkey exhibit in addition to daily motorcycle shows. There's also an agriculture playland for kids.

Of course there are some great concerts as well, including Cheap Trick on Friday and The Spinners Sunday. For more information, just go to www.WaukeshaCountyFair.com.
