17 OWI arrests over the weekendMILWAUKEE --- Sheriff’s deputies issued 17 drunken driving citations this weekend, four of them were involved in crashes. Repeat offenders included 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th OWI charges, the 6th offense was in a stolen vehicle. One of the OWIs was issued to a driver that had a 9-year-old passenger in the car. Deputies got a call around 9:30 p.m. Friday for a driver swerving on I-45. Amy Berger, 39, admitted to consuming alcohol and prescription medications before getting behind the wheel with her 9-year-old in tow. Berger faces up to six months in jail. On Saturday, a deputy spotted a vehicle deviating lanes in the Zoo Interchange around 2:00 a.m. The deputy called for backup when a check showed the vehicle had been stolen. Nicholas D. Glover, 34, was charged with his 6th OWI. He faces up to six years in prison. |
