11 Year Old Boy Shot

MILWAUKEE-An 11-year-old boy is expected to survive after he was shot while sitting on the front porch of a relative's home Monday night.

A disturbance broke out in the neighborhood about 11 p.m. in the 2700 block of N. 26th St. when shooting began and the child was struck. Police do not believe he was the intended target.

Milwaukee Police are investigating this incident and will update the community with any additional information. In the meantime, anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Milwaukee Police at 414-935-7360.

Family members identify the victim as Marquon Elliot and tell CBS 58's Stephanie Brown that he is hospitalized with a wound to his chest.

The Peace for Change Alliance will hold a Stop the Violen Rally Thursday at 7pm at 26th and Hadley.

President Tracey Dent is urging residents to come out and show support to the family and friends.
