Kroger's Expanding its Footprint into Wisconsin by Buying Roundy's

Roundy's announced, the parent of Pick n’ Save stores, will be acquired by Kroger Company.

A Roundy’s representative said they felt this merger is a win-win situation.  They felt it will help customers, employees and the communities where there are stores.

Roundy’s has 151 stores in Milwaukee, Madison and Northern Wisconsin but also 34 Mariano's stores in the Chicago area.

This expands Kroger's footprint in this area.

Customers won't see any changes to names in our area either. Representatives said the stores will remain Pick n Save or Metro Markets.

The deal is scheduled to close by the end of 2015.  That's when the integration starts. The company has no plans for any layoffs or store closings because of this.
