K9 unit helps capture escaped Racine County inmate in Green Bay

GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The prisoner who fled from a Racine County correctional facility has been captured in Green Bay. The woman had stolen a vehicle from Racine County which was recovered in Green Bay. Green Bay Police searched a home on Norwood Avenue where they received intelligence that led them to a house on Badger Street.

While at the house, officers were able to gain consent into an apartment with the goal of locating Christine Abel. The escaped inmate attempted to hide herself after multiple attempts for her to comply.

The Department K9 Roco took Abel into custody with other officers.
