Jefferson Health Department Offers Free Flu Shots for Children

The Health Department currently has Influenza Vaccine available for adults and children.  There is a $30 fee for adult vaccine, or no charge for individuals with Medicare Part B. Please note the Health Department is unable to bill a Medicare HMO or Medicare Replacement Plan. For adults, the Health Department can only bill regular Medicare Part B.

The Health Department will be offering Influenza vaccine for school-age children at special clinics to be held in local schools throughout the months of October and November. Clinic dates include: Eagle Elementary School in Eagle on October 22 at 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.; Palmyra Schools on October 29 at 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.; Jefferson West Elementary School on October 27 at 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Lake Mills Middle School on November 2 at 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.; Waterloo Middle School on November 4 at 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.; Fort Atkinson Middle School on November 10 at 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

School-age children will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Completion of a short health assessment and informed consent are required.

Intranasal and injectable Influenza vaccine will be available (as supplies last). The vaccine will be free at these special clinics for ALL school-age children regardless of insurance status. Regular fees and rules will apply for Influenza vaccine given to children at the Health Department. Please contact the Health Department at 920-674-7275 for more information.
