Janesville man arrested for OWI after crashing into home, 2 vehicles

BELOIT, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 26-year-old Janesville man is in custody after crashing into a home and two vehicles while driving in the 1700 block of St. Lawrence Avenue in Beloit.

It happened around 3:52 a.m. on Sunday.

When officers arrived on scene, the suspect reversed from the patio area of the home he had struck and nearly crashed into a patrol car.

The suspect then took off.

Officers followed the vehicle for two blocks before the pursuit was called off.  Shortly after, the vehicle was spotted again being driven erratically and swerving all over the road.

Officers then set up stop sticks which the suspect hit before fleeing again at a high rate of speed that reached 100 MPH.

The Rock County Sheriff's Office then set up a second set of stop sticks as the suspect was coming into Janesville. The man was subsequently taken into custody in the 500 block of South Washington Street.

The man was arrested for his second OWI, hit-and-run, operating while suspended, and felony fleeing.
