Jackson man blackmailed after woman he met on dating site claims to be 17-years-old

JACKSON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 21-year-old Jackson man contacted police to report that he was being blackmailed by someone he met on a dating site.

The man called the police to report that he was contacted by a woman on a dating website and after talking for two hours, they exchanged nude photos.

The man then told police that the next day the woman claimed she was only 17 and demanded money or she would report what happened to the police.

The man paid a total of $3,500 in several installments to the woman.

The woman then called again and claimed to be in a mental institution in South Carolina and wanted $5,000 to pay for her treatment. The Jackson man then went to police and the incident remains under investigation.
