RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A popular restaurant in Racine is rebuilding after it was destroyed in a New Year's Day fire.
Demolition began last week at Rosie's Restaurant on Taylor Avenue.
The owner's daughter showed CBS 58 News what the new Rosie's will look like. They will be building a bigger place, but promise to have the same menu.
"We literally sat and watched it burn. That was the hardest part, not knowing what would happen next. Now that we see an empty lot and know we're taking steps forward, it's a good feeling knowing from here on out, it's going to be bigger and better," said Selena Arroyo, the owner's daughter.
If work goes as planned, they hope to open Rosie's back up in 3 or 4 months.
