Milwaukee (CBS 58)--Celebrations mark 80 years of successful, sudsy pouring of Schlitz beer at The Brown Bottle. And for the rest of the week, the pub near downtown will observe the milestone with drink specials, promotions, and giveaways. This establishment first opened in the late 1930's as an actual tavern for the brewery. It's evolved over the years and even closed for a short time. But then reopened less than five years ago offering more modern style of food and atmosphere while never forgetting its roots.
During Happy Hour this week, between 3 and 6 pm, the first Schlitz you order is on the bar. Management promises it'll be the same original taste you remember from all those years ago.
