International effort helps put Wisconsin man behind bars for possessing child pornography

WEYAUWEGA, Wis. (WFRV) - An international effort helped put a Weyauwega man accused of possessing child pornography behind bars.

In a post to their Facebook account on Wednesday, the Weyauwega Police Department says they received information from United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and the New Zealand Digital Child Exploitation Team. That information identified an individual who was posting sexual content involving children on social media.

HSI was then able to identify the location of the suspect on High Street in Weyauwega.

That's when Weyauwega police along with the Waupaca County SWAT Team executed a search warrant on the home.

The search ultimately lead to the arrest of a man suspected of possessing child pornography. Other charges include Maintaining a Drug House, Manufacturing Psilocybin Mushrooms, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Additional charges may be referred.
