Hot Start To August

We're just five days into the month, but so far, each day has been above normal. And our dry stretch for Milwaukee continues.  Take a look at the stats so far:

Today is the first day that the average high temperature slips back to 79° after holding steady at 80° the last month. August has featured temperatures in the 80s and 90s so far, but that's about to change just in time for the weekend.

As high pressure builds into the area, which you can see from the thumbnail image of this story, conditions will be turning more comfortable. Lower humidity and slightly cooler temps will be with us this weekend, along with quiet conditions.

Saturday and Sunday will be in the mid to upper 70s in most spots, with a light northerly flow. The flow will draw in a few clouds at times, but we'll also enjoy a good deal of sunshine. Conditions will be great to get out on the big pond! And we're getting to the point in our season where we experience the warmest lake temperatures, mostly middle 70s. Not bad for Lake Michigan!

Here's your boating forecast for Lake Michigan:

If you're looking for a break from the heat, this weekend is the time to get out and enjoy! Next week we warm back into the middle 80s once again and we are looking dry over the next five to six days. As of now, our next chance for storms is Thursday and Friday of next week.
