Group calls for more transparency on railroad cargo

A group of concerned citizens want more transparency about what type of cargo comes through Milwaukee. Brian Chiu lives near railroad tracks in Milwaukee's Walkers Point neighborhood.  He's worried about how people would evacuate in case of a disaster with a freight train carrying crude oil.

\"The main thing we got to do is spread the word,\" Chiu said.  \"We got to let people know of the dangers of the trains. Everybody sees the oil trains around here. Everybody's wondering. Many of us already figured it out. More of us need to understand this is not just another freight train coming by.\"

The city of Milwaukee will address a bridge inspection report Thursday after railroad officials checked the bridge over 1st & Oregon St. in Walkers Point.
