Good Rain, Still Need More

The rain started Friday afternoon and didn't seem to end until Sunday morning. All of Saturday stayed gloomy and foggy with light rain slowly adding to Friday's rain total. When everything was done some cities in our area received over an inch of rain! A much needed rainfall to turn those lawns green again.

The month of August will end below average when it comes to rain, but not too far behind. As of Saturday, Milwaukee is four tenths below where it should be and a far cry from the near 6\" we saw last year.

Even though August stayed close to average, June and July were very dry. In fact the rain deficit for the summer (since June 1st) stands at nearly 4\" and the deficit for the entire year is over 6\".

The next good chance for rain doesn't arrive until the beginning of next week.
