Fromm's PetFest will take place September 23 at Summerfest grounds

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Fromm's Petfest is set to take place at the Summerfest grounds on Saturday, September 23. The event is free for the entire family and pets. Last year more than 10,000 people and 3,600 pets were in attendance.

The event will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Pet-centric activities include: dock diving, lure and agility courses, Doggie Dash speed trial, Bier Garden & Dog Park and Main Stage entertainment featuring disc dogs and animal entertainers. A pet-themed marketplace will bring pet professionals, pet products and more to festival shoppers, while attendees have the opportunity to meet pets looking for their forever homes at Adoption Avenue. Petfest University will host pet professionals discussing topics ranging from veterinary care to training tips to nutrition.

New for this year, the Groom Room will bring grooming professionals to educate and demonstrate on event attendees. Kitty City will make its festival debut on all things-feline including educational seminars, cat rescues, cat products, cat food giveaways and more- and at its centerpiece- a castle comprised of more than 6,000 cans of pet food.

Fromm Petfest is proud to support a number of WI-based non-profits at Petfest. Proceeds from food and attraction sales will benefit Journey Together Service Dog, Inc., Occupaws, Lutheran Church Services Comfort Dogs and various WI Police Dept. K9 Units.

In light of the recent devastation from Hurricane Harvey, Fromm Petfest will be holding a pet products drive to be transported to Texas following Petfest. Attendees are encouraged to bring pet-related products including leashes, blankets, beds, toys, litter and food and deposit them into donation bins at the Mid and South Gate entrances. For every bag of Fromm food purchased at Petfest Fromm will also donate a bag of food to the disaster relief. Additionally, Fromm will donate the more than 6,000 cans of Fromm petfood that compromise Kitty City. Petfest sponsors and vendors will also be donating goods following the event. The goal: send a Semi truckload full of pet love down to the displaced and in-need families of Texas.

Fromm Petfest admission and parking is free with entrances at the Mid and South Gates of the festival grounds. Interested parties can visit petfestmke.com to download the event waiver and hear about the day’s activities.
