Former Teacher Accused of Sex with Student Sentenced to 8 Years

A teacher accused of sex of having sex with a student was sentenced Wednesday morning. In total Sara Domres was sentenced to eight years by the judge.

Domres appeared in court with her attorney and said she was sorry for what she did. The 29-year-old was criminally charged in April for having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student. 

Court documents say that during the 2015-2016 school year, Domres and the students had sexual intercourse a number of times and had exchanged hundreds of text messages some of which were inappropriate.

Domres who is a former teacher at New Berlin West addressed the court before her sentencing when she broke down and said she was truly sorry.

Domres was taken into custody and her eight year sentence will be split between jail and supervision.
