Former Cold Case Reopened; Wisconsin Man Sentenced to Life in Prison

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (AP) — A man convicted in the 1984 death of his wife in central Wisconsin has been sentenced to life in prison.

Stevens Point Journal Media reports 56-year-old Joseph Reinwand was sentenced Friday. He was found guilty by a jury earlier this year of first-degree murder in the death of his wife, Pamela, at their home in Plover.

The sentence given to Reinwand will be served consecutively to a life sentence that he's serving for the 2008 shooting death of his daughter's ex-boyfriend, Dale Meister of Wisconsin Rapids.

Reinwand's wife's case was originally ruled a suicide. It was reopened after police discovered new evidence while investigating Meister's death.
